Did you know you can turn a small candlelit in your fireplace into a light show? The light from a chandelier is beautiful and serene, but it doesn’t take much to transform its simplistic beauty into a magical light show.
Embers of Light
For some color variation, place your candlesticks on a tray or baking sheet inside the fireplace. Fill the tray with clear glass or mirror stones in a generous amount. You can use clear glass or choose colors that go with the room’s color scheme. If you have a mirror-polished stainless steel fireback, you can use its adjustable base to reposition it at an angle to bring light back into your interior. Or with a three-sided stainless steel hearth plate, you can reflect and amplify the candlelight from your three-sided candelabra fireplace.
Shine and Reflect
Reflective surfaces in your fireplace, under or behind your candelabrum, can double the light from candles and make a dramatic difference in the room. To see the magic firsthand, place a large mirror under your candlestick and watch the mesmerizing glow! If you have a mirror large enough to serve as a base for the foyer chandeliers, try completely covering the foyer floor with heavy-duty foil. Another option is to place a large frameless mirror against the fireplace wall. it looks like you have twice as many candles lit.
